Table usage[edit]

Granted, this template was created in 2007, when the internet was a lot different, but why is this template still using tables in the year 2019? The stub notices are not tabular information, where there is a correspondence between a header and content. Instead, it's merely a thumbnail and then normal text. Tables should not be used for formatting purposes. CSS is more than capable of it these days. Opencooper (talk) 03:30, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Maybe you could look at Template_talk:Asbox/Archive_4#Use_of_<table> and see if any further work is needed. -- WOSlinker (talk) 06:53, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
WOSlinker, Opencooper a re-evaluation of that should be simple to do I think and I encourage anyone to pick it up. But it's work and someone needs to put in the time to really understand the work to be done. That replacement now at least needs conversion to a Module and the CSS should probably be split out into TemplateStyles (it's not like other templates are using this styling (as far as i'm aware)). —TheDJ (talkcontribs) 13:15, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

"note" parameter[edit]

The documentation page does not provide an example of intended and/or legitimate usage of the {{{note}}} parameter. Can anybody think of one? I can't. But I do see that in at least one case it's being used to promote a WikiProject group. ―cobaltcigs 23:04, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

"pix" parameter[edit]

I've recently seen stub graphics as large as 100px. The sizing feature too should be disabled for consistency purposes. ―cobaltcigs 21:29, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 5 September 2019[edit]

Mt._Gilead_Baptist_Church needs to be changed from Mt. Gilead Baptist Church to Mt. Gilead Christian Church. I am the current minister and am writing a history of the congregation. If possible I would like to expand the historic information once I complete my work. Please let me know what I may need in order to do this.

@Brother.robbie:  Not done: this is the talk page for discussing improvements to the template {{Asbox}}. Please make your request at the talk page for the article concerned. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:21, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

Visible graphic characters removed from category names[edit]

Despite code comments to the contrary, Module:Asbox removes visible Unicode characters such as the graphic symbol "↔". So I have modified the module on my own fork (which is intended to be as close to Wikipedia as possible, but no closer), by simply adding my special character into [^%w%p%s↔]. Unfortunately Scribunto does not have a character class for graphics. Is there a MOS guideline forbidding such characters? Couldn't find it... Dpleibovitz (talk) 19:52, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
